EWC Scholarships/fellowships

The East-West Center is an education and research organization established by the U.S. Congress in 1960 to strengthen relations and understanding among the peoples and nations of Asia, the Pacific, and the United States. The Center contributes to a peaceful, prosperous, and just Asia Pacific community by serving as a vigorous hub for cooperative research, education, and dialogue on critical issues of common concern to the Asia Pacific region and the United States. Funding for the Center comes from the U.S. government, with additional support provided by private agencies, individuals, foundations, corporations, and the governments of the region.
The East-West Center offers a wide variety of both short- and long-term programs for individuals. Academic scholarships and fellowships as well as educational exchange and professional development programs are available. Those currently accepting applications are listed below.

Ford Foundation Fellowships

Students who have completed at least a Bachelor's degree who would like to participate in a 9-month graduate certificate program in the Asian Pacific.The deadline of the application is on November 29, 2007.


The Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships seek to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

To facilitate this goal the Fellowship grants awards at the Predoctoral, Dissertation and, Postdoctoral levels to students who demonstrate excellence, a commitment to diversity and a desire to enter the professoriate.

The Fellowship makes the following annual awards

* Approximately 60 Predoctoral Awards at $20,000 per year for up to three years.
* Approximately 35 Dissertation Awards at $21,000 for one year
* Approximately 20 Postdoctoral Awards at $40,000 for one year

Eligibility Requirements

* All citizens or nationals of the United States regardless of race, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
* Individuals with evidence of superior academic achievement
* Individuals committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level,
* Individuals enrolled in or planning to enroll in an eligible research-based program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree at a U.S. educational institution, and
* Individuals who have not earned a doctoral degree at any time, in any field.

ICCR Scholarships

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, was established in 1950. The objectives of the Council, as defined in its Memorandum of Association, are :

* to participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes relating to India’s external cultural relations
* to promote cultural exchange with other countries and peoples
* to promote and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries
* to establish and develop relations with national and international organisations in the field of culture
The Council, with its Headquarters in Azad Bhavan, New Delhi, carries out this mandate of cultural diplomacy through a wide spectrum of activities which include:

A. Programmes Wing:

* exchanges of visits by scholars, academicians, opinion-makers, artists & writers
* facilitation of the organisation of and participation in seminars and symposia abroad
* exchanges of visits by performing arts groups
* exchanges of exhibitions
* commissioning of busts and statues of Indian leaders for installation abroad
* presentation abroad of informatics, audio-visual material, books on India & Indian musical instruments
* active collaboration in the operations of some Foreign Cultural Centres in India ( e.g. nine of the thirteen British Libraries in India --- the ones outside the four metropolitan cities --- are run jointly by the ICCR and the British Council )

B. Administration & Education Wing

* administering of scholarship schemes for foreign students for studies in India
* assisting organisation of and participation in seminars and symposia in India
* maintaining the Council’s Regional Offices in India and its Cultural Centres abroad
* establishing & maintaining Chairs & Professorships for Indian Studies in Universities abroadaal Centres abroad
* administering the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding
* organising the Maulana Azad Memorial Lecture
* conducting the Maulana Azad Essay Competition
* publications

#Bagi peminat beasiswa ICCR bisa mendapatkan formulirnya di Kedutaan Besar India atau
Konjen India di daerah masing-masing. Beasiswa dibuka untuk semua jurusan yang meliputi biaya kuliah, makan, penginapan dan buku. Waktu pendaftaran setiap bulan 12.

Scholarships of MMUGM

Master of Management, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Gajah Mada (MMUGM) offers scholarships for Asian Countries
citizens, excluding Indonesians. Scholarships are available for 3 candidates in every intake period (April, August, December). Scholarships will be granted to cover tuition fee for full time students in MMUGM Yogyakarta Campus (admission fee, books and thesis expenses, living cost and other expenses are excluded).

REQUIREMENTS:
#Holding an undergraduate degree in Economic or business with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale)
#Under 40 years old
#Having Toefl score at 550 or IELTS score at 6.0
#Not holding any oher scholarship at present time
#Not registered in any graduate or postgarduate from other institutions.
#Admission fee
#Passing the interview test conducted by MMUGM
#Submitting the application form alongwith the following documents attached to it,
- Copy of legalized undergraduate degree
- Recent photographs
- Copy of valid passport
- Reference letter ( reference letter form s are available at www.MMUGM.ac.id )
